In the Trace of Time: The Value of the Moments We Miss
What could I write, how could I tell it - to those who try to keep up with the flow of time, to those who want to hold again the grains of sand slipping through our palms…

Time is an unstoppable river. No matter how hard we try, we cannot make it flow backward. You cannot chase time that has passed. Yet in the rush of life we forget this truth, and everything we postpone, everything we do not pursue, everything we leave for later, we leave behind like small boats lost in the waters of that river.
Each moment, like a leaf falling from a tree, slips away in a way that can never be restored. And we understand how precious those moments are only when they are gone. Life does not offer a remedy for everything - especially for time already spent.
“Come, come, for there is atonement for fasting and prayer; there is no atonement for a life spent without you,” said Seyyid Nesimi. How true…
A reminder to those who forget time’s irreversibility: we can make up for many things; we can mend a broken vase even if it will never be the same, we can finish a story left half-told. But we cannot bring back time that has passed; we have no chance to live the moments we lost again.
So as we navigate the stormy or calm seas of life, instead of chasing time gone, let us honor the moments we still have. When we wake to a new day, when we watch a new flower bloom, when we embrace our loved ones, let us feel the quiet flow of time. Because life is not the sum of unlived moments; it is the sum of the moments we lived and valued.
With love to all the souls who keep me company in these moments…
